The business case for Hold, Adapt, Shape™

Leadership capacity that holds up when the pressure doesn't let up.

The problem.

Under pressure, leaders tend to hold on tighter, retreat to what's familiar and perform a certainty they don't feel, and carry the load heroically instead of sharing it. The data points the same way: 85% of CEOs say they need greater professional and personal support (AlixPartners 2026 Disruption Index), and only 30% are very or extremely confident about revenue growth over the next 12 months, down from 56% in 2022 (PwC 29th Global CEO Survey).

What we do.

We work on strategy and leadership capacity together, so the plan survives contact with the people who have to run it. Hold, Adapt, Shape is the practice at the centre:

  • Hold: stay grounded in what's real. Confront reality, name the fear, and make sense of what it's asking of you. In business terms: decisions stay sound under pressure.
  • Adapt: widen the lens. Let go of old stories, invite new information, and find the courage to see differently. In business terms: the team changes course earlier and with less friction.
  • Shape: author the future. Flex, shift, and act to build what's next. In business terms: strategy gets carried out, and the next one gets built.

What an engagement includes.

Strategic planning and/or an executive team effectiveness session to scan the environment and align on strategy and leadership behaviours, usually with a written plan that includes critical success factors, KPIs, SMART action plans and a digital dashboard for tracking. Then, sized to your appetite for change: one-to-one coaching, team effectiveness sessions and team coaching, leadership development workshops, and Leadership 360s, at the executive, director and supervisory levels. Work ranges from a single session with follow-up to organization-wide programs that typically run six months and can continue as ongoing development. Reframe believes good coaching and consulting removes dependency on a provider, so our measure of success is that you don't need us anymore.

What changes.

  • Greater clarity and alignment, and a more cohesive executive team.
  • Greater speed and efficiency, as leaders act with more clarity and decide faster.
  • Leaders who engage complexity and ambiguity sooner, with courage and heart.
  • More healthy conflict and debate.
  • Stronger skills and competencies at every level, and a greater ability to Hold, Adapt and Shape.
